Chocolate, peanut butter cookies - hope there's one of the five food groups in there somewhere

rainy days and children are very hard work

Things I have learnt today:
Ikea furniture has very handy large boxes to create cars with.
Ikea boxes only amuse my children for a very short time. 
Painting oneself is far more interesting than creating something beautiful on paper or an Ikea box.
Time does stop still
"why" is a word I could easily NEVER HEAR AGAIN
cheese sauce is not the same thing as cheesy sauce (and if I had called it cheesy sauce it would have been eaten)
humming to oneself does actually block noise out
not seeing the headlights of my co-worker pull into the driveway tonight is agony

The Holiday

well, it is true - holidays are never quite the same with children (as much as I love my children and love being with them on holiday). Holidays now are like childbirth ...a lot of anticipation, then a lot of pain which dissipates pretty quickly and you find yourself only remembering the beautiful bits and before you know it -  you want to do it all again... which is just as well because I still love holidays and can't imagine life without them (bit like kids really)

a moment
